Heal Thy Self with Helichrysum!

by Judy Torrent

The use of essential oils for medicinal (rather than purely psychological) uses is growing rapidly in the United States. Users are doing their own research, and finding scientific backing for the use of volatile plant compounds for a wide variety of applications. Many essential oils have proven antibacterial, antiviral, and even anticancer effects. Essential oils can be of profound support for pain relief too, though the research is as yet a little more sparse. We have been using Aromatherapy for quite some time without realizing it, in the form of Ben Gay and Tiger Balm, for sore muscles and stiff joints. Now, Helichrysum essential oil is becoming more and more popular, as it not only relieves pain, but actually speeds healing of many injuries and ailments. What’s different about Helichrysum? Why might it have even better effects than the Wintergreen found in Ben Gay? It’s all in the chemistry — some of the individual constituents of the oil DO have scientifically validated effects. Here’s a look at the multitude of actions of Helichrysum, and how you can benefit from this effective natural plant medicine.

Profound Pain Relief With Essential Oil of Helichrysum

by Kelly Bliss

Helichrysum is one of our favorite essential oils, as it has such immediate, profound pain relieving and healing effects for most folks who use it. The reason has to do with the chemistry of the oil, and here we’ll have a look at the special natural chemistry of the Helichrysum italicum species.

by Amy Nutt

As many people who have had the experience will tell you, there are simply not many things that are more relaxing than a spa. In this stress-filled world, sometimes a person really needs to relax for them to be able to handle the day that’s ahead of them. With things like work, school, and other activities, they can sometimes seem as if they are a little too much for us to handle. Eye Cream For Sensitive Skin

by Amy Nutt

Harsh elements in the environment and chemicals found in many of the products we use have caused our skin to sustain a substantial amount of damage. Looking after our skin naturally has become a popular choice for many consumers. Petroleum derivatives, chemicals, preservatives, scents, and colors can greatly diminish the health of our skin. One area that can be sensitive to both environmental elements and synthetic skin products is the region of skin around our eyes. The skin around the eyes is very delicate and thin, which makes it one of the first areas where skin damage is noticeable. Fortunately, there are organic eye care skin products that are gentle on the skin and improve skin health.

About Aromatherapy

by Dana Saiah

What Makes for Good Oil? In anything that is used on the body, especially if it is to improve health, it must be clean, purity and of high quality. Quality is a function of growing and harvesting conditions. Purity is the result of handling so that it is free of contaminants, undamaged and undepleated. So as not to damage the plant material, it must be picked by hand, and contain no trash parts. Also, the extraction process must not impart impurities, to the oil. When sold, pure oil is not cut, or diluted.
